Quick Start Guide

Get your first audio file in under 5 minutes. TTS Buddy is built for accessibility — everything you need is free.

Step 1: Create an Account

1. Go to ttsbuddy.com
2. Click Get Started or Sign Up
3. Create an account with your email or sign in with Google/GitHub

You can start generating audio immediately on the free plan.

Step 2: Open the Dashboard

After signing in, you'll land on the Dashboard. This is your home base for generating and managing audio files.

Step 3: Enter Your Text

In the text input area:

• Type or paste your text directly
• Upload a PDF by clicking the PDF upload button
• Text can be up to 500,000 characters per request

For best results with long documents, the AI sanitizer automatically cleans up formatting like tables, bullet lists, and markdown to produce better-sounding narration.

Step 4: Choose a Voice

Click the Voice dropdown to browse available voices. You can:

• Preview each voice with a sample clip
• Filter by accent and style
• Your selection is saved for next time

Step 5: Adjust Speed

Use the Speed slider to control playback rate:

• 0.5x — Slow and deliberate (great for language learning)
• 1.0x — Normal speaking pace
• 1.5x — Faster pace (for review sessions)

Some voices optimized for speed have a maximum of 1.0x to maintain audio quality.

Step 6: Generate Audio

Click Generate and wait for processing. You'll see a progress indicator while your audio is being created. Most files are ready within 10-30 seconds.

Step 7: Listen and Download

Once generated:

• Play the audio directly in your browser
• Download the file for offline listening
• Find all your files in the History section
